Alex,
The 40mm on the CL is among the nicest I ever used, small. Had a Rollei SE
too but the range finder were the unknown territories I wanted to explore,
traded it in.
Have you seen that Aki in Japan is going to create covers for the Rollei? It
looks gorgeous on the CL, it would too for the rollei.
Yes the Tamron 28mm is cheap and I have already a Leica R mount fo a zoom. I
mean for the fun, why not?

Well we will see that in the remote future: I have been quoted 220 Euros to
reassemble my summilux 50mm. The rats! It's a fortune!
And Hopefully I can get it back for the 15th of August. Really bad,
concerning landscapes, it's a good lens and I had planned some photographic
holidays....
Cheers.

A Zoom that starts out with (my) mythical focal of 40mm? That's
interesting!
Why mythical? Standard focal length on the Leica CL, and also on my
excellent tiny Rollei 35SE with the 40/2.8 Zeiss Sonnar.
The other day, I've considered a cheap Tamron 28mm for my R, just for the
fun and lightness.
I have one of these somewhere in SL mount, and it's a pretty good lens. If
it's really cheap, it's probably worth buying. Seem to remember that David
Young had one too.
Best
