Gentelmen,
=20
Leica have by now had the same amount of time to do a bug fix that they =
originally had to write the entire piece of software!
Mr. Erhardt isn't primising anything concerning content of v1.3 or =
delivery times, if they were hard at work, they should be able to give =
us a preview/list of items being worked on, you hear nothing concrete =
from him.
=20
Concerning discontinuing DMR, did you really expect him to say =
otherwise? If you want to clear your warehouse saying otherwise would be =
nuts.
=20
I have to say I am getting worried that the entire R-line is being =
yanked. After the introduction of the digilux 3, which can take =
r-lenses, a number of r-seres lenses being doscontinued, no firmware =
support for DMR, no concrete news of a R10. I think the writing on the =
wall clearly says: goodbye Leica R/DMR.
=20
Best
Tim

Thank you David for gathering the facts and presenting them to us. I =
really
don't think Leica would be that stupid to cut support for the DMR. I =
also
think it is wise of them to make sure the V 1.3 firmware update is as =
bug
free as humanly possible. As I understand it V 1.2 was not all that bad
where an emergency fix was needed to allow folks to use there DMRs. So
better to let cool heads prevail and get it right this time. =
Especially
since they are counting on the DR10 to sell and have confidence in the
market.
Dave
