Hi Eric & Jan,
Yes Eric, comment should have been to Jan sorry I misread the thread. I e=
xpect
the adaptor from Singapore was OK but didn't activate the switch in the 5=
D.
If it is of interest a quick search on a well known auction site suggests=
an adapter to work on all film and digital EOS is now available - I expec=
t
it had a 'pin' or similar to push the switch in the 5D and other cameras
without the need to "bodge". I haven't got one so can't give a firm recom=
mendation.
However, given there is clearly a small industry - one that is also doing=
some basic R&D - my guess is these adaptors are selling well. Leica may e=
ven
sell a few more R lenses to Canon owners maybe?
On another matter, if anyone else gets a slightly sloppy adaptor I've gre=
atly
improved the fit of one of my adapters (HK variety) by inserting a thin b=
lade
screwdriver into the gaps in the flange and opening them up a little bit.=
Best wishes for 2007
Keith
