Charles -
I'm gonna strongly second Ted's recommendation for the 10-22. Although
I don't have one myself, a couple of other photographers I know around
here really like them. Also, it's the wide end that probably won't be
covered by your current R lens arsenal and is also the area in which
autofocus really helps, at least for me with SLR's...

Charles without question, when you want wide you need wide! Get the
10mm-22mm Canon zoom designed for the digital camera. It's the 35mm
film equivalent to a 16mm-35mm and a very fine image cutter. How about
individual grains of sand and highlights on the beaches of Cabo san
Lucas! ;-)
I've used it on major shoots and it cuts as well as a Leica lens! :-)
;-)
Okay now I've done it ;-) as I can hear the vipers rustling in
Leicaland to get at my throat for that. ;-) However, pay them no
never mind as I just look at the 13X19 prints we produce as they're
becoming the standard print size we measure all lenses by. Techie
numbers be damned.
First choice Canon.... 10mm-22mm. !!!
