My apologies, Jerry! I wrote the last post in a rather hurried manner.

First of all, the subject is Rawshooter Essentials 2005... a software
package for digi users, who shot in RAW mode. It allows for conversion
to .tif and .jpg files as well as some image exposure
correction/sharpening/etc.

The software that comes with Canon (and other camera makers) cameras is
not regarded well... it is said by many that other packages, such as
Capture One, Bibble and others do a much better job, in terms of noise,
sharpness, shadow details, etc.

My question was meant to ask:

1) has anybody here used Rawshooter?

2) if 'yes', then how do they feel it does the conversions to other
formats (in terms of noise/shadow detail/sharpness etc.) as compared to
the EOS Viewer (comes with Canon digi's) and other third party software?

3) what other comments might they have about it?

I am wondering if this package is worth the time to learn. It seems very
slick, simple to use and is reputed to be put together by one of the
founders of Capture One - which is said to be the best of the lot.
Besides, in it's current incarnation, it's free! (Later versions will be
US$99, I understand.)

I hope this is clearer, this time.

As my brother says... "I can read readin'... I just can't read writin'
... 'special if it's wrote wrotten"!
