Hello Charles and Mike,
in Laney - " Leica Collectors Guide" this piece of equipment is shown
mounted on a microscope.
It was part of the "Universal Camera Attachment" set :
#543192 shutter with metering tube (for a Microsix meter)
#543058 Microsix-L exposure meter
#543198 holder for attachment to Aristophot ( an earlier
micro-photography set-up)
#543194 Clamping collar to microscope (fitted below 543192)
#543218 high point eyepiece adapter
Now what is shown on a well known internet auction site
#543193 0.32x camera objective (lens) for use with M or R cameras
#543195 Adapter M
there were also an adapter for R cameras (in combination with #543193)
A simple film transport housing ( probably not made by Leitz)
also attachments for Polaroid, 6x9cm,9x12cm cameras and lenses 1x or
0.8x for these.
The whole construction could be fitted to most contemporary Leitz
microscopes, focussing being effected with the normal
binocular eyepiece of the microscope. It was neither possible, nor
necessary, to vary the focus with the camera or lens.
Possibly an interesting collectors piece, but of very limited use as a
macro/micro lens, if you happen to have a Leitz
microscope and all the other bits and pieces then a very interesting way
of getting into micro-photography.

Father Cason,
While searching some more, I found the following ad:
"UNUSUAL - Leitz Microscope Camera - Permanently attached microscope
adapter on late plastic/metal German body w/ darkslide (?) Adapter
stamped Leitz Wetzlar Germany 0.32:1, Prontor Press Shutter 1-125, B,
T. Detachable viewfinder on end of adapter w/ grid pattern."
The description of the adapter fits, this would really explain the
lack of aperture ring on the "lens".
I was unfortunately unable to find a picture of the adapter...

Can someone tell me about the macro lens on ebay

&rd=1 ?????
The seller does not reply. It is listed as LEITZ LEICA M bayonet
EXTREME
MACRO 0,32 : 1 LENS.
I do not understand the 0,32 part. Does this mean about one third
actual
size or 32 times the actual size.
I really want a good macro lens but cannot afford the photar or to
bid on
something I do not understand.
Thanks
