[LRflex] Question on 28mm Elmarit-R

Hello everyone,

I've had my 28mm lens for about 3 weeks now and have been playing with it. 
However, I find that the colours are a little too saturated, and the image 
looks less sharp overall than my 50mm Summicron-R. The copy I have is the one 
with 48mm lens thread (S/N: 2920179), which apparently is an older version. It 
has been suggested that the E55 version (like my Summicron) has been improved. 
My question is, is it worth seeking out the newer lens? What kinds of 
improvement could I expect to see?

Since I just got this lens, and it cost me about US$400, I'm a bit wary of 
making a small loss on it. But if the difference of the new one is noticeable, 
I wouldn't mind. I'm using it with an Olympus E-1 with adapter, by the way. I 
have played with the colour saturation setting on the camera, but I still get 
less satisfactory results than I do with the Summicron, which are almost always 
spot on. I can tweak the colour saturation in Photoshop, but would prefer to 
get it right straightaway.
