Then either you gain that digital photographic ability or capability,  or 
depend on someone else by paying for it, or getting them to help you, or you  
are 
SOOL.  
 
The software is there, easy to learn and easy to use.  ROC (Restore  Old 
Color), a plug-in for photoshop, and included with Nikon Scan takes a tick  of 
a 
box.  Should be simple as pie for an aero-space engineer like  you.  I'm an 
English major and I can use it.
 
Really, after all this time I really think your belly-aching is wearing  
pretty thin.
