Hello to all
This is not really within Leica R lenses, which is a pity indeed but it's about a 130 Million pixel camera:

It"s really amazing !
I wonder if the quality is better ith a summicron 50?

Cheers.
Xavier,
I should hope the results would be better for a
Summicron, the closeup of the battery shows some
chromatic aberration.
Scanners of this kind exist for 4x5 cameras,
but are actually quite expensive.  Making one out of
a flatbed scanner is a neat idea, and making it work
well is very remarkable.  My hat is off to this guy.
There are some interesting limitations to using
this type of a sensor with a subject that isn't perfectly
still.  First, it acts like a *very* slow focal plane shutter
around one pixel wide.  Also they may not acquire red,
green and blue at the same time, so that there may be
artifacts that look a bit like severe chromatic aberration,
except that the color doesn't tend to line up with edges
in the image like real chromatic aberration.
One of the suppliers of this type of back has an
excellent page of examples:

Thanks for posting this, Xavier.

I see now looking ahead in my email that Miha has
pointed out correctly that Leica made one of these called
the S-1, which I never realized until now had a scanning
sensor.  Of course it was one of these except for the
"next to nothing" part. :-)
Thanks Miha also.
Cheers,
