I haven't visited this list for quite some time, but in my absence I
bought a Nikon Coolscan V ED.
I must say, in a field of fakes this thing is the real deal.
Unsharpened scans at 4000 ppiviewed at 100% look exactly like the
negative appears under a 30x microscope.
In fact, (as I may have stated elsewhere) getting a really good
scanner with a really great lens is exactly like getting a really
good turntable with a really great cartridge; you pull out a bunch of
your old vinyl to see what you've been missing.
