Hi Tom!
Welcome to the zoo!
You'll find us a genial, polite group, with a lot of expertise to
share. You need only ask!
The PanaLeica's (Philippe's L1 Lumix and the Digilux-3) are based on
the Oly models, but with Panasonic electronics. Leica go one step
further, installing their own firmware in the Digilux 3. I believe
their user interface is a wee bit simpler, but it's minor, and they
claim better colours, but I've not seen anybody do a direct comparison.
Both will take Leica's coming R to 4/3rds adapter, although there are
any number of less expensive adapters, for this, already on the
market. Others, here, can give you names and sources. Howard?
Anyway.. it's good to see "another smiling face" on the list!
Best,
David (One of the Zookeepers) Young.
