[LRflex] New Web Server for Leica Photos

You may recall, nearly 2 years ago, I breathlessly announced that the 
LRflex group would be getting a gallery in the Leica-Gallery.net site 
- run at Oak Road.  Unfortunately, this offer was eventually withdrawn.

I know that many here are still looking for a place to post their photos.

This morning, Brian Reid (LUG Saloon keeper and proprietor of 
free-silver.org) posted a note on the LUG, which announced:

>http://leica.free-silver.org/ that anyone from Leica-Gallery.net is

I immediately wrote Brian, asking if LRflex members would be welcome, 
as not being 'M" enthusiasts was the stumbling block at Oak Road.

He promptly responded, saying:

>R users are welcome.

So, if you're looking for a spot to post your Leica photos and do not 
have a website of your own... feel free to 
try  http://leica.free-silver!    Right now, it's a bit basic, 
as  Brian has just set it up, and he admits to spending more time on 
making the servers fast (something always lacking at Oak Road) and 
the discs reliable.  It will evolve quickly, for Brian is an able 
administrator, and the LUG is a huge group!

I'll be posting some of my own work there, but not until later.  Too 
much on my plate, already, before we leave for Photokina, 
mid-September.  :-)  There appears to be only one or two test photos 
there, at the moment, but that will quickly grow, I'm sure!

User reports, as to ease of use, uploading tips, etc, might be a good 
idea!  If you use it, let us know how it works!  Thanks.
