Hey, Alex. My grandmother was from Cork. O'riordan (Not sure of spelling), one of 15 or 16 children. She left in the early 1900's. Probably as common as "Smith" over here.

OK - another oldie.

Alex Hurst, Cork, Ireland (a Brit married to a charming Corkonian florist). Aged 59 and 3/4. Ran UK advertising agencies for 30 years, retired early and ended up in Ireland (a much pleasanter place IMHO than the UK has become).

First use of Leica (a III) over 40 years ago staffing for the university newspaper. Shoots M2s, M3, M4-P, M6, plus screw mount and 'flexes. Great believer in 'oldies but goodies' - hence the excitement over finding a a 50 year old 85/1.5 Summarex in good condition. See:

In the same vein runs a 1989 BMW with 150,000 miles on the clock.

Recently also discovered the charms of classic Nikon SLRs (F, F2, F3) - incredibly good value (especially the glass) as there are a lot of them around.

Travels a lot, and has made many firm friends in the Leica and Nikon groups. Now eagerly awaiting wife's retirement in early '05 so we can travel even more.
