Hello Richard,

The first photo:

Without question a fine action photo indeed! Are you shooting through the
fence with lens right at the wire mesh? Or where are you shooting in
relation to catcher-batter and umpire? As in what is between you and the
subjects? I can't imagine being on the playing field and shooting as that's
asking for the kiss of death or injury or smashed camera while up to your
eye. Or worse the loss of an eye or both depending how the ball hits you.

 

Given I've shot hundreds of baseball games amateur and professional, I can't
imagine shooting without any protection between you and ball or batter? If
you were shooting from the playing field without protection you must be the
luckiest shooter in the world to be still able to punch on the key board!!
