>>The only reason I "shoulda" taken the Telyt was that
the shots shown are cropped ... from the distance I was from them, I could
have easily shot full frame equivalents. The difference between 280 mm and
400mm. (I'd rather not get "too" close to a sow and her cubs... discretion
being the better part of valour!)
Still, I was happy to get the shots that I did, though I'd hoped for one of
the classic "family portraits" of mother and both her cubs. However, the
black cub never gave me a clear shot, preferring to stay in the underbrush,
while neither cub got too close to Moma, before they all wandered into the
deep brush. I decided not to follow!<<<<
Hi David,
I think given the ornery mean assed attitudes of Black Bears around the
Province this year gnarling on a few folks right in their yards and one
crashed through a kitchen door looking for food it could smell. You picked
an excellent choice of lens! And some copping for a larger image is fine.
:-) I'd have given some thought to a "very big gun, stun gun of course like
a Taser!" ;-)" :-) Just in case.
So far here in Gordonhead we've only had our usual deer populations eating
every flower you plant. They've also supplied one or two very neat picture
opportunities while munching on my wild flowers.
A cougar one morning being reported roaming the neighborhood and for folks
not to venture out side looking for it with camera or gun. Watch through the
window and call 911 animal recovery folks if you saw it.
Some how the idea of the deer and an 80-200 lens suits me just fine or on
occasion the 280mm 2.8 with an extender is OK. :-)
