Dear Listers,
I am using three types of batteries in my L1, the Panasonic CGR-
S603E, the Techstep Lithium Ion, and the Goki Li - Ion. The Goki
comes in two versions, one with a red Li Ion sticker and the other
with a black sticker that reads "Lithium Ion". My warning concerns
the Goki battery with the red "Li - Ion" sticker. It fits snugly into
the battery compartment and does not pop out when you release the
battery door - the coil spring in the bottom of the compartment isn't
strong enough to push it out and you have to shake and tap the camera
to get the battery out. I don't think that can be good for the camera
insides over a long period and I recommend that you avoid buying the
Goki Red sticker batteries for that reason. The OEM Panasonic is a
7.2V 1500mAh battery, the Techstep (made in Korea) is a 7.4V 1350mAh
battery and there are no specs on the Goki batteries (made in Japan).
Since I might not get the chance to post again before Christmas may I
take this opportunity to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy
and Prosperous 2007.
Cheers
Howard (in Sunny but cool Hong Kong)
