You bring up an interesting point here.  If Charles is having trouble 
because the release pin is a little long a quick trip to the Dremel 
grinder would be just the thing (they're quite easy to remove for the 
operation.)

However, if the lobes are actually gripping too tightly and the kerfs 
are closed then it would be considerably trickier to get this thing to 
behave.

So here I am going on about shims and such and perhaps his problem is 
quite the opposite of mine.  I think it's the newer lenses that are 
supposed to require skinnier lobes and older stuff (like my old 2-cam 
lenses) are the ones that need the screwdriver spread (with shims if 
necessary.)
