My father-in-law has the Nikon 105 on his D-300. Hard to compare since we are two different photographers. But I thinks his best shots are not on par with mine, as far as quality of the image are concerned. I would say, looking at his work, in general, the NikonD300 does a far better job than my Canon Rebel for the pixel peeing quality, but my lenses outperform his. does that make sense?
