[LRFlex] Re: Is anyone using a R4?

I have two R4's for about the last 20 years. One, with a 15xxxxxx serial
number, was purchased as a demo and has always performed flawlessly. The
other, a 16xxxxxx, required an electronic repair early on, and since then
has also performed flawlessly.

The 15xxxxxxx is not being used now, because the foam has disintegrated and
fallen all over the view/finder mirror. It needs a CLA, which will cost
more than the camera is worth (from a dollar viewpoint). The other has had
a recent CLA and is great. Over the years, both cameras had exposure and
shutter performance that was very highly accurate, as judged from slides. I
did replace both original 'R4' viewing screens with the newer 'R' viewing
screens, because I read that the latter were brighter.

I think you will enjoy using your R4.
