Well (as Jack Benny would say),
I am another one of those old f***s enjoys shooting with Leicas. I have an
R8, 2 R7s, and an SL2 50 Jahre along with a reasonable compliment of lenses.
Some years ago I got all enthused with the Rollei 35mm SLR cameras and had
an SL3003, and an SL2000 with a bevy of Zeiss lenses. If anyone tells you
that Leicas are fussy then they definitely never tried the Rolei 35 mm SLR
stuff. Even the lenses were a pain--Harry Fleenor rebuilt every one of them
at least once--some twice. The 25/2.8 Distagon was a sweet lens though.
However, I love the Leica equipment it is just a joy to work with. I am
hoping to learn from the many examples in this group.
I am 57 and make my living as a Lawyer.
