The varying ISO is indeed the culprit!
FWIW, the Lexar 1 GB HS cards yield,
ISO 100 110
ISO 200 109
ISO 400 106
ISO 800 103
ISO 1600 98
ISO 3200 91
Different, but not significantly so, from the Kinston card.
I shall wonder, no longer!
