Good Morning Neil!

There are always areas for improvement, in any firmware:

1) The DMR has always had problems with white-balance... particularly
indoors. I've found v1.2 to be much better, in this regard, than
v1.1, which was, in turn, better than 1.0. However, it is not yet as
good as the Nikons or Canons, in this regard, so an improvement here
would be appreciated by all users. That being said, v1.2 is good
enough that when I develop in Silkypix, problematic photos usually
only take seconds to cure. Still, better performance, here, would be nice.

2) The DMR is very slow, both turning on (7seconds in real life,
despite the 3 claimed by Leica). Optimizing some of the code to
improve this would be good.

3) The DMR is very slow, writing to cards. Again, optimizing the
code may help. That would be nice.

4) Noise. The noise in the DMR's shots at high ISO's is better than
the M8's, but not as good as the better Canon dSLRs. Noise can
*always* be improved.

I know nothing about which areas may be improved, which is what I
think Mehrdad wants to know. However, Leica are, wisely, not making
any claims until they know what they can deliver. Or even if they can deliver.

All I know is that v1.3, is supposed to be "a big improvement".

I, too, wish I knew more!

Cheers!
