[LRflex] Housekeeping: A request.

A number of our members use "auto-responders" to generate an "out of
the office" message when they're away.
With summer vacations coming, auto-responders can be a real problem
for our, or any email list. This is because every post generates an
auto reply from you to every member of the list. If you're gone for,
say, 21 days, at, say, 12 posts a day, that's 252 unnecessary emails
that every member will received!

It's particularly unfair to those who have pay by the minute for
local phone service to connect to their ISP. Though he's not our
list, I know one chap who gets his email in Mongolia, via
Sat-phone! (He tells me it costs him $800 per month to feed his
email habit!)

If you're to be away long enough to warrant an "auto reply", please
either put yourself on vacation, or somehow set your auto-responder
to not respond to the list's mail.

To put yourself "on Vacation", please go to the Leica Reflex Forum
web-page: http://www3.telus.net/~telyt/lrflex.htm and use the drop
down menu (where you subscribed) to select "Turn Vacation-Mode
ON". When you return, do it again, selecting "Turn Vacation Mode OFF".

For those who speak French, this can be done at
http://xavierf.b.free.fr/Photography/lrflex.html

You need not miss any of the action whilst away. After you return,
you can read the archives at:

Many thanks...
