your shots give the feeling and as previously noted you have a steady hand without IS :-D 
I like the light on these shots and n°3 and 4 are keepers IMHO.
I guess he'll be pleased to get those shots from you.

Conditions were difficult - very poor lighting and a moving musician! All exposures were hand held at either at 1/4 or 1/8th second, f2 at ISOs of 1600 or 3200.
