You might also keep an eye out for a Series VI to 55mm step up ring, which
makes it compatible with other E55mm lenses you have. They do exist; I have
one.

I've found that a 43.5 screw in filter can be used in place of the the
Series VI filter retaining ring on these lenses. The filter threads engage
sufficiently to hold the filter firmly in place. This seems to be specific
to the Leitz Series VI retaining ring threads as the filter doesn't fit
other Series VI filter holders that I've tried.
