[LRflex] Evening light in Firenze

Dear Flavio, Ted, Harry, William, Philippe, Douglas and David,

Thanks all of you for your comments and encouragement.....and to keep
the ball rolling for now, I will answer Flavio's question, "Anyway,
coming back to your Italian trip: do you have any Firenze pictures to
show?"

Here are some more Firenze pictures taken that same evening of March
14, following the Pisa morning series. You may have already seen the
"kissing" ones posted last month in homage to Robert Doisneau. Other
than that, here are several scenes of evening sculling activities with
Ponte Vecchio in the background:

.......and also of youth watching the ardent rowers on the Arno:

I had to stand in the middle of the bridge in between spurts of motor
traffic to get these two last shots in the fading light (which were
re-posted after some small PS work):

Well, in retrospect I am glad in more ways than one that I took the 1
hour train ride to Firenze from Pisa, shot these Tri-Elmar shots, then
had dinner (Phil, with just chianti and not grappa) before taking the
train back to Pisa that night. Reason is that I won't be back to
either Pisa or Firenze for quite a while. When I was there in March,
I had a project that would have lasted for at least another 9 months
at University of Pisa Hospital, that would have brought me back again.
However, now that's put on the shelf with no sign of resurrection. So
this is a reminder that in photography, as in life, one has to "make
hay while the sun shines". I especially like Ted Grant's way of
putting it - "milking a location"! Ted, thanks for your fine tutelage
through your recent comments.....truly appreciate all that, esp.
coming from you!

Best Memorial Day wishes to All, and........."Shalom"!

p.s. next stop that journey was back to London, and then Oxford - so
there may be more photos posted in the (near?) future
