Personally, I don't 'get' the digital "M" concept, either. But then, I=
don't 'get' the film "M" concept. In past I've owned the M3-DS and a CL...=
 and found both highly unsatisfactory.

But that's a very personal outlook, based on the fact that the "M" cameras=
are probably the best cameras out there for normal and w/a lens use.=
Small, light, rugged and fast to use.

However, I almost never see photos in a 'normal or w/a' sense. I tend to=
 'see' tight. For over 20 years, I owned the 85 f1.8 and 200 f4 Nikkors,=
and nothing else. And loved 'em! Tothis day, I use the 90 Summicron as a=
 'normal' lens.

In recent years, I've owned the 21mm SA, but it only gts used when my back=
is against the wall or a cliff. My dislike for 'M' cameras has nothing to=
do with the cameras, other than I find the rangefinder difficult to use=
are rarely shoot with normal or w/a lenses.

There are a lot of folks out there who love RF cameras, and Leica has the=
largest slice of that market. The threatened Md may be the salvation of=
Leica. And if it is, I hope they will then develop the R10d. It could be=
based on the R9 body (to save tooling costs) but put the electronics=
currently housed in the base in the areas previously used by the film=
canister and t/u spools, and the manual wind mechanism. The result would=
be a smaller, lighter camera, that might appeal to buyers other than=
existing R8/9 users, and thus enable Leica's market to grow.

Hey.. I can dream, can't I?
