We've speculated on what might be meant by a "larger than full-frame"
sensor in the recent past, in case someone has missed those discussions. I
agree with your analysis, except for the "apparent FL" aspect. The field
of view changes as you've described, but the magnification factor does
not. This is one reason why I have not been attracted to "less than FF"
sensors for my existing lenses. I don't think I'd be bothered as much by a
slightly increased field of view if the magnification factors stayed the
same.
