I have a R9/DMR (1 year and counting) and the big reason I have one and am happy with it is the absolutely outstanding image quality. I am not bothered by lack of firmware updates: I shoot Raw and have a bunch of 2GB cards to use. Even if they never update the firmware, I don't care. Frankly, I'm a little nervous using 2GB cards because 100 images is a lot to have on a tiny piece of plastic. In use the R9/DMR handles about the same as the Canon full frame. It's big and relatively heavy but it practice it works quite well. If you can get one at a good price, I don't thinky you will regret it.
