OK, David. There is a scientist in me, too (obvioulsy) and I am still
impressed. Looking at areas in each photo that are in best focus, you can
see way more fine detail in the DMR shot you posted. Lighting not
withstanding. Leica lenses on both, even though not the same. I did not
look at the color renditions as Doug did. Different lighting will have too
large an effect. But the details in the hair on the chest vs the fur on the
hood are very strking.
So, since you do have both cameras it would be undoutably easy for you to do
a very controlled comparison as you said you would do later. I await, but
am impressed.
Not that I will buy one. I think if they "master" an M version then a
smaller, all digital R version would almost have to follow. For me, size
and weight matter.
