You're buying a computerised machine. All machines are fallible, including
the human body (pity it doesn't come with enhancement upgrades). Leica are
undisputed mechanical engineering kings. I've never seen mentioned their,
or any other camera manufacturers, code cutting prowess in the broader
software engineering communities.
My personal philosophy doesn't allow purchase of the first evolution of
computerised machines, always wait for the third or fourth iteration. This
will probably blow away with the wind the instant the digital M is
released (important to remain flexible).

There's nothing about beta testing deals on the site, I would assume
participants are under non-disclosure agreements. It's also strange to run
beta testing after production release (especially off-shore, miles away
from your control).
