[LRFlex] Continued Filter Puzzlement

Thanks for the responses -- Doug, in particular.  I'll seek a 54-->55 step-up 
ring.  But here is where my confusion comes from: As I understand it from 
Doug's site (a terrific source) and the Sartorius book, the first version of 
the 50 Summilux, which came with my SL2, also takes Series VII filters.  I can 
screw 48mm filters into the front of the 50 in lieu of using VII filters, and 
indeed it's my understanding that Series VII equals 48mm.  Obviously, 48mm is 
significantly smaller than 55mm, so I assumed I had the later version of the 
135.  If I'd reread Doug's site I would know that wasn't the case.  But still I 
wonder just what thread size is on the 135 -- what size in mm is Series VIII?

Very interesting lacuna about the small "55" engraving -- I think I like the 
fact it's more like a 140!  (Is this standard for all the 135s?)
