[LRFlex] Re: Comparison shots

Folks -

I find the comparison between these two lenses to be quite helpful. Despite a quite high probability of sample-to-sample variation in the Canon zoom it's a good reminder for some folks not to be lazy and "just shoot 'er with the zoomer" when highest image quality is needed. Basically, the Canon shot has that look of having passed through a lotta glass-to-air surfaces... (as non-rigorous as this statement really is)

I'll also say that I have 3 Leica 50's (M & reflex) and my 1st version Summicron R is the sharpest tool in that particular shed.

Here, the corner photog has bought a Canon 20D. I need to "work him in" a little but if I provide the adapter, he may accept to let me discover the LEICANON world!

Hey, I got my Leica/Canon adaptor. I could not resist. I slapped the 50/2 R lens on and took a shot at f-8 then used the lens that came with our school' digital Rebel, not know as a great lens, at 50mm and f-8 and here are the results.
