Hi Sonny,
I think the M8 and it's colour concerns by many is one of those "bugs" that
will go on for the next hundred years as long as everyone is using different
"testing conditions." Or software allowing for all kinds of changes
automatically or by hand.

It's too bad the "red cast- IR" situation came to pass so soon not allowing
Leica to get a handle on it before everyone had a shot at bringing it to the
forefront of "glitches." Certainly out in the open for everyone and their
brother to illustrate and or attempt to correct the situation.

As I mentioned earlier I found neither field picture wrong, M8-DMR even
beside each other. What's acceptable for one photographer is a disaster for
another depending on how each viewer looks at the world in prints.

I think one of the strangest things about this M8 IR thing is, certainly in
my own case. .......... I rarely if ever shot colour with M cameras during
my career. A few times with the Noctilux due to minimum light conditions and
wanting to capture the mood of scene as it was. But 99.% of my assignments I
shot B&W in M bodies. Reserving colour for the R cameras.

So as much as IR is a major factor for many it isn't for me. Certainly if
I'm working with M8's the chances are they'll be set to B&W. So as I see it,
the IR factor is no big deal! :-)

However it's developing into a fascinating topic if nothing else. :-)
