[LRflex] Re: Canon 800mm IS

Chris, Doug...

As a test, I asked Rose to look at the hi-res image of the "low light moose". While she is not an avid photographer, she does have a sense of what's Ok to use, and what's not, having edited many of my photos. OTOH, she has a lot of experience with moose, having been a camp cook at countless dozens of moose/bear/elk and mountain sheep hunting camps.

Her comments were (a) that he was "an old guy", and that (b) it is a photo which she would expect an excited hunter to take, with a cheap to medium priced P&S or "Bridge" camera with a 10X or 12X zoom. As she said.. "just not sharp, anywhere!"

Certainly, it would not excite me to drop US$11,000 on my local dealer!

I can only repeat your question ... "What WERE they thinking????"

Cheers!
