[LRflex] Re: Another River, the Seine

Xavier & Philippe:

First of all, Xavier, let me say that I really like the colours you
are getting from your D3! The greens are reminiscent of Fuji Velvia.

Secondly, you keep suggesting, Phil, that Xavier try
Silkypix. Having been a very pleased SP user for some time, now, I
can understand why. However, unlike the PanaLeica L1, which comes
with Silkypix, the Digilux comes with Adobe Elements 4, which is not
nearly as nice - at least as far as I am concerned.

Although I know you like your Corel (a fine Canadian Product!), Corel
Paint Photo XI is not a RAW converter, and setting "preferences" will
not do the job, Xavier!

For the most flexibility and highest quality photos, I suggest that
you try the RAW format. Develop with Elements 4 (with your camera)
or try downloading a free trial version of Silkypix.
(http://www.isl.co.jp/SILKYPIX/english/download/). The trial versions
have all the basic features enabled, but you have to give them money
to get all the fancy stuff. Still, it's less expensive than
LightRoom, and, I think, better.

Have fun with your toys, guys!
