Jim, It's not as bulky as you would think. Actually, it's about the same size as 28~105 AF Nikkor, when the Nikkor is extended out to 105mm. The critical focussing is incredible, since the bellows 2 has a slider built-in to the tripod mount. I can set for size required and then focus the bellows/lens combo. The "M" bellows 2 is also relatively light. Another useful feature is that I nearly always keep the Leitz large ballhead and mini tabletop tripod mounted to the bellows and can use it as a belly/chest resting mount for extra stability in hand/belly holding.
