[LRflex] Adaptall

hi Folks
I have a Tamron 135/2.5 plus 2 x Adaptall converter. David is correct: the Adaptall bayonet connects the two items, and the converter has a corrected f-stop scale (very useful!); then the M42 or whatever adaptor fits on the Adaptall bayonet on the camera end of the teleconverter. This method works very well indeed. Some of my photographs on my last posting were taken with this combination - and I would defy anyone to tell which ones! However, I also have a Tamron 2 x converter with M42 screw each end. This converter fits my Tamron 300/5.6 - which predates Adaptall - and I have to say that it is an excellent device. 4 elements, and it only costs 1 stop when in use. Again some of the photographs that I posted last time were taken with this combination, and equally, I would defy anyone to tell me which ones. I didn't like Tamron products - and converters in general - 40-odd years ago, oin my erstwhile days of photography, but these are worlds apart from the products of the early 1960s. So, Xavier, if you want to use a Tamron converter, try to get one with the correct fitting each end - you will, I'm sure, be pleased with it!
Regards all
