I've done many an assignment in the National Parks of Canada and photographed all kinds of these critters in varying shapes and sizes. But in all honesty, I've never had the good fortune to "shoot" photographically speaking! Such a magnificent animal. Very nice catch light in the eye!

I don't think it would be a good idea to be anywhere near this fellow during "rutting" season or one might be wearing a great rack of horns where it really hurts!

He looks a bit menacing, in the photo, but was, in fact, merely pawing for food ... you can see some snow spraying up, just in front of the top of his rear right leg.

Still, I suspect you're right ... you wouldn't want to be in front of his charge!
