[LRflex] Re: A lot of Bull...

Hi David,

WOW!!!!!!!!! A wonderful and powerful photograph of this incredible animal.
Good on you! Not only for taking the picture but braving the winter
conditions as well!

I've done many an assignment in the National Parks of Canada and
photographed all kinds of these critters in varying shapes and sizes. But in
all honesty, I've never had the good fortune to "shoot" photographically
speaking! :-) Such a magnificent animal. Very nice catch light in the eye!

I don't think it would be a good idea to be anywhere near this fellow during
"rutting" season or one might be wearing a great rack of horns where it
really hurts! :-)

Cheers,

ted

Subject: [LRflex] A lot of Bull...

Last January, we were in Jasper Park, for some skiing with the family.

As we headed out of the park, we spotted some bull Elk, near the Airport,
and I stopped to try my luck.

The temperature was around -30C, with a 50km/hr wind gusting to -80kph, so I
didn't stop long!

One shot, however, was interesting.

I normally post smaller images, but this one simply didn't look right, at
800 pixels wide! It still loses a lot, compared to the Tif file. :-(

OT Gear: Oly E3 w/Oly 50~200mm + 1.4x. (Sorry, but I wasn't about to fight
with MF in those conditions!)

C&C welcomed, as always.

Cheers!
