Hi Philippe!

Nope. It does not help very much at all.

You see, for small birds, I normally use the 400 f6.8 Telyt w/2x...
making it an f13.6 system, wide-open. Very few viewfinders are
bright enough for that! Although the OLY finders are pretty good,
they are noticeably dimmer than the SL or R8/9. More like an R3,
which was great for *most* uses. But not for this one.

Live view may be fine for macro work, on a tripod, but it is
worthless, when holding a long lens on a shoulder stock & monopod.

I am, however, thinking hard about the coming Oly 510 ... 10.1 mp
w/image stabilization built into the body. Could work well for slow
lenses! Still trying to find out if it's a porro prism finder or a
pentaprism. (Anyone?) Supposed to be out in June/July.

Of course, there's also the rumours of the Oly P1 - professional
grade camera, supposedly coming in September.

And, the rumoured 20mp D1s MK III Canon!

I want to stay with my Leica glass (so I am restricted to 43rds or
Canon), but am becoming disgusted with Leica, themselves. After
having my DMR for a month, they've now decided that they cannot find
the problem and thus I have had to send in my camera to them. So, it
will likely be another month to six weeks before I see my gear again.

This coming Tuesday it will be seven months since my gear was damaged
whilst in the Solms factory. I can count, on my fingers, the number
of days in those seven months, when I have had a functioning camera+DMR!

Rose says I'm getting "grumpy". She's probably right!
