Most 3rd-cam only lenses have a bayonet flange that will not fit the SL,
however the 3rd-cam 50mm Summicron-R that I had (and sold a long time ago)
had a Leicaflex SL flange, so it would fit and worked fine in stop-down
metering mode. If the lens has an R-only flange, either the lens or the
camera can be easily modified to work together without any loss of function.
