Good Afternoon Richard!

Which lens is best, is a very personal question!

By Elmarit 2.8, are you referring to the (Minolta made) 24mm Elmarit-R,
or the (Leica made) 28mm Elmarit-R?

The 35mm Summicron-R is well regarded. However, both the 28 and 24mm
lenses are also very good, and offer more coverage.

It's not really a matter of which one is 'best', or even preferable.
It's more a matter of how you see the world, when you lift a camera to
your eye.

F'rinstance, I shoot 'long'... I use a 90mm lens as standard, and have
rarely owned wide angle lenses of any kind. I bought the 21mm Super
Angulon f4, because when my back is to the wall, that's when I want a
w/a. However, not everyone is so extreme as I am.

Pick the one which most suits how you 'see' the world. They are all good.

I'm sure others here will be glad to give you their viewpoints on the
lens(es) of this group, that they own!

Cheers!
