  You're a better man than I. My wildlife shooting is confined to museums where 
the critters are well fed (stuffed to be exact!).

See how I rest my left hand on the lens in the portrait? That's one 
trick to a sharp shot, especially with a tripod. I do that especially 
with the 400mm Telyt - there's no IS to help with shake.

The other trick I use with the Telyt is a monopod. Lean yourself 
against some vertical support to minimize horizontal shaking, and the 
monopod takes care of vertical shake.
