Re: new photos, 100% Leica

Hi Bill,

In what way is C1 better than the Adobe RAW converter? I have dabbled once with a trial version I got at Photokina in 2004, but decided that it was too much hazzle to have a separate RAW converter when I already have a perfectly good one built into Photoshop. I am not worried about the $99 but about the extra step in the workflow. Is there an improvement in image quality with C1 that justifies it?

Thanks,
Nathan

And as a further suggestion, check out C1 software from PhaseOne.
http://www.phaseone.com You really only need the Capture One LE which is
only $99. It has a media reader so that when you plug your card into your
computer, it will pop up with a screen that allows you to download. I will
usually load into a folder based on the date shot and from there process the
images. C1 then loads automatically and allows you to adjust, if necessary,
your images before you convert them to jpg or tiff. I have found that the
C1 software gives a little better result than the Adobe Bridge or the
software that shipped with the DMR. Hope this helps.

Doug,

Beautiful as usual. I would suggest, however, using the DMR in its RAW/DNG
format. That will give you more options for post processing.
