I've been trying for an image that says "rain", and I've had plenty of chances lately. Here's my latest, using the macro 400mm approach (EOS 20D at ISO 400, EF 400mm f/4 DO IS, EF 12mm + EF 25mm extension tubes, Gitzo 1127 tripod, 1/30 at f/8):
