We just got back from a week in Yellowstone National Park. We went a week
after Labor Day, when the crowds had thinned, but when the weather was
still good.
Yellowstone is a truly amazing place. We did a lot of "geyser gazing," and
contemplating the deep philosophical question, "Why did the buffalo cross
the road?" They did, often, and at 2000 pounds, there is no discussing the
matter. We also saw a couple of bears and bighorn sheep. Sorry, no pics of
them. But you will see plenty of deer, and elk, and the play of hot water
fountains galore.
I had a lot of fun playing with shadows, and with abstract patterns made by
the hot springs' mineral deposits and multicolored bacteria colonies.
Without further ado, here is a link to a gallery of the best pictures, all
125 of them(!) Browse the 11-page gallery, and click on any picture you'd
like to see full size.

I'm slowly putting the best ones in a different folder, bigger, as I get
time to work on them.

Enjoy!
