Dagnabit David you're not supposed to let the secret out!
Seriously this might be a significant factor because I don't drink coffee
either and I've faced a lot of scepticism re: my hand-holding abilities
(and on another forum, I've been accused of outright lying).<<<
Hi Doug,
I used the old slide barrel f6.8, 400 and 560 for years hand held before
going to the 280mm 2.8 and coffee wasn't the only thing I was drinking and I
rarely lost a frame from shaking. ;-) I do admit there were a few though
that even a mother wouldn't recognized, but they kinda looked like
"deliberate shaking art!" ;-)
Actually one of my most surprisingly successful slow shutter speed colour
frames was at the 1972 Munich Summer Olympics during closing ceremonies as
it came to a final moment of closing. 1/15th wide open! :-) True! One might
say extremely emotional.
Hand held the 560 and squeezed off two frames, first right on the mark and
the a twitch during second frame and it was a throw away. But even I was
surprised back in the lab seeing the light effect and content in the first.
my hand-holding abilities (and on another forum, I've been accused of
outright lying).<<<
Doug when I see this kind of accusation about an extremely talented
photographer like yourself, where your skills in handling equipment have
been honed by doing it regularly for years, it once again assures me that
there are a tremendous number of morons out there not to forget a-holes who
are nothing more than "screen warriors" with little or no true shooting
experience or handling long glass!
I'll be polite here as to what at this time in my life I'd tell them to do
with an extremely long lens then try to take pictures where there isn't any
sunshine! ;-)
There are damn few on any list that can handle a camera as effectively
shooting what you do so perfectively. So give them no mind for they are
dumb asses who know no better!
