Oakland usually gets second billing behind better-known San Francisco.
But residents of this East Bay city like it that way, keeping it
friendly and relatively undiscovered.
The recently-completed Cathedral of Jesus the Light is very eye-catching:

The cathedral provides an elevated view of Lake Merrit:

Leica M8, 50mm f/1.4 Summilux non-ASPH (Cathedral), 35mm f/2 Summicron-M
ASPH (Lake Merrit)
In general, pictures from the M8 require much less processing and
sharpening in Photoshop than images from Canon's EOS 1D mk II or 20D.
The M8's color rendition is superior too. I should have picked one up a
long time ago!
All comments welcome.
