Re: Suggestions Wanted for Incident Meter

JB,

Don't send it to Gossen. I sent my colormeter to them and it took a month. They had to send it back to Germany. I've been sending my meters (when I break them or they need recalibration and/or CLA) to:

Mr. George Milton
Quality Light-Metric
7095 Hollywood Blvd., Unit 550
Hollywood, CA 90028

(323) 467-2265

They do exceptional work, have virtually every spare part in stock and charge a lot less than the manufacturer's repair facilities.

I have always carried an incident meter with me in my shirt pocket (naked, without a case) for years, giving it quite a beating in the process. The best I have seen or used is the Seconic L-308B which is bullet-proof. The only drawbacks I have found are that It has a short boot sequence when turned on which makes quick metering impossible unless it is already on. The other is a slight tendency to read high (underexpose), which can be compensated for. My previous meter was a Gossen LunaPro Digital which is a great machine except that it lasted exactly 1 year in my pocket before lint and dirt got around the buttons and jammed it up. Bummer. Time for a trip to Gossen for a $$$ cleaning. JB
